Project SUN is a Strong and Unified Network that is family-driven and youth-guided.
It is dedicated to strengthening the children's behavioral health system of care
in Kankakee County through a coordinated network of services and supports
to address the needs of the whole child.

Community Mental Health Resources

Helen Wheeler Center for Community Mental Health
The Center is a comprehensive outpatient-counseling agency that provides mental health counseling services and therapy to children, adolescents, and adults who live and work in Kankakee County. Helen Wheeler also provides crisis screenings for adolescents (SASS) and adults.

Iroquois Mental Health Center
Offers outpatient mental health services for children, adolescents and adults; psychotherapy, counseling, psychiatric consultation; MI day program services, substance abuse counseling; including state-certified DUI services. Family, group, and individual services are offered.
